UK Tidal Projects

Welcome to 3 Pillar Holdings

On energy, we are currently focused on two initial sites in the UK which are the River Severn and The Wash.

For decades the immense practical difficulties of harnessing the powerful tides flowing around Britain’s shorelines have put off investors and government officials searching for big renewable energy sources.

But as the costs of deploying turbines in tidal streams fall, more and more people are seeing the potential in an energy source that creates energy as the tides ebb and flow at predictable hours every day – energy that is renewable but not intermittent.

Unlike nuclear, the cost of generating power from tidal streams continues to fall, (simliar to solar and wind), but, unlike solar and wind, tidal has the significant benefit of predictable and sustained energy.

Driving Forward

As we drive down the cost of energy, we look for other suitable locations in the UK and Europe.

With clever design, and a holistic approach, our projects can also deliver additional benefits such as flood defence, enhanced road and rail and an economic boost to the imediate and surrounding area, helping UK PLC achieve its true potential.
